Submagic pricing: the short answer

Submagic price (2026)
Starter is $19 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly ($144 a year). Pro is $39, or $23 ($276 a year). Business is $69, or $41 ($492 a year). Every price is per member, per month, and yearly billing saves up to 41%. A Custom plan is quoted by Submagic’s sales team.
What each plan allows
Starter: 15 videos a month of up to 2 minutes each, exported in 1080p. Pro: 40 videos of up to 5 minutes, up to 2K, with AI eye contact, auto zoom, silence, bad-take and filler-word removal and clean audio. Business: 100 videos of up to 30 minutes, up to 4K at 60 fps, with 100 API minutes a month.
Free plan
None that you keep. The free trial lets you upload and edit 3 short videos without a credit card; downloading them without the watermark needs a paid plan.
Not in the plan price
Magic Clips (long video to short clips) is an add-on, listed at $19 a month for 10 uploads in Submagic’s help center. Extra API minutes come in packs from $57 a month. Each extra team member is another seat at the full plan price.
Refunds
None. Submagic’s help center says it does not offer refunds, so cancel before your renewal date. You can also pause a subscription for a few months instead of cancelling.
Euros and reais
In euros the numbers are the same as in dollars: 19 €, 39 € and 69 € a month, or 12 €, 23 € and 41 € billed yearly. In Brazil: R$ 79, R$ 159 and R$ 279 a month, or R$ 39, R$ 79 and R$ 139 billed yearly.
StoryCut (our product)
A free plan, then Starter $9/mo or $7/mo billed yearly, Pro $19/mo or $14/mo, Business $49/mo or $39/mo with 5 team members included. Videos can run 7 minutes on Starter and 10 on Pro.

How Submagic counts videos, credits and members

Submagic sells credits and converts them into videos: Starter has 45 credits a month, which it equates to 15 videos, Pro 120 credits (40 videos) and Business 300 credits (100 videos). Its pricing page says the same credits also pay for AI-generated videos and images. The allowance is per member: a team of three on Pro gets 40 videos each.

Every member is billed at the full plan price. Three people on Pro cost $117 a month, or $69 a month billed yearly. Five people on Business cost $345 a month, or $205 a month billed yearly. Starter covers one user only, and Pro allows up to three.

Length is capped per video, for both upload and export: 2 minutes on Starter, 5 on Pro and 30 on Business, with files up to 3,000 MB. A 3-minute video needs Pro, and a 6-minute one needs Business. The API is counted separately, per minute of video, rounded up to the next minute.

Videos longer than 2 minutes? StoryCut Starter allows 7, from $7/mo billed yearly

What the Submagic price doesn’t include

Long videos into clips. Magic Clips, which turns a podcast or webinar into 20+ short clips, is a separate add-on subscription. Submagic’s help center lists it at $19 a month for 10 uploads, on top of any plan, so Starter with Magic Clips costs $38 a month.

More API minutes. Starter and Pro include 10 API minutes a month and Business 100. Extra minutes are sold in monthly packs: 250 minutes for $57, 500 for $75, 1,000 for $150, 2,000 for $300, 5,000 for $500 and 10,000 for $1,000.

Team seats. There is no flat team price: each member pays the plan price, and Starter can’t have a team at all.

Longer videos on the cheaper plans. Anything over 2 minutes needs Pro, and anything over 5 minutes needs Business.

Branding on Pro. Pro has a brand kit and custom fonts, but logos and brand assets, a custom vocabulary and priority rendering are listed on Business only.

A mobile app. Submagic’s help center says there is no native iOS or Android app; you can upload from a phone browser and edit on a computer.

Voice translation details. Submagic translates captions, and its help center (updated September 29, 2026) says it now translates the voice too, but the pricing page doesn’t say which plans include voice translation.

Refunds. Submagic’s help center says it doesn’t offer refunds, a policy you accept in its terms when you sign up.

Read this before comparing the two prices

The plans are not identical, so the cheaper price isn’t the whole story. Submagic counts videos per member per month. StoryCut counts the videos you keep at a time (20 on Starter, 50 on Pro, 100 on Business), and on Business that allowance is shared by the whole team, so delete finished projects to free slots. A large team that publishes hundreds of videos a month gets more volume per seat from Submagic, at a much higher total price.

Features differ too. Submagic’s AI Auto Edit adds B-roll and transitions, and Submagic also removes filler words and bad takes, publishes to social platforms and has an API. StoryCut has none of those. StoryCut includes AI clips from long videos in every plan, places sound effects on your key words for you, and its Auto Edit cuts silences and adds sound effects, zooms and music in one click on Pro. StoryCut Pro covers eye contact on 10 videos a month (unlimited on Business), and every StoryCut account can correct 1 video for free.

Submagic eye contact vs StoryCut

Submagic’s AI eye contact is a one-click tool in its editor. Its pricing page lists it on Pro and Business, not on Starter, so the cheapest way to get it is Pro: $39 a month, or $23 a month billed yearly, per member. Pro videos are capped at 5 minutes. Submagic’s eye contact page doesn’t say how many corrections a plan covers or which model it uses.

If eye contact is the one Pro feature you need, StoryCut sells it on its own: 1 free video up to 4 minutes, then 5 videos for $9 one-time, up to 10 minutes each, with no subscription. StoryCut Pro ($14/mo billed yearly) includes 10 eye contact videos a month, up to 10 minutes each, alongside captions and effects.

You can also use both: correct the recording in StoryCut, then caption it in Submagic. The corrected MP4 keeps its resolution, frame rate, length and audio, so Submagic transcribes it like the original.

Free trial, watermark and how to cancel

Submagic has no free plan you can keep. Its free trial lets you upload 3 short videos and edit them, with no credit card; to download without the watermark you subscribe to a paid plan, starting with Starter. There is no other way to remove the watermark on Submagic itself.

To cancel, open your profile (top left), click “Go To Stripe Portal”, then “Cancel Subscription” and follow the steps. Submagic’s help center also offers pausing the subscription for a few months; it renews as normal when the pause ends. Because Submagic doesn’t refund payments, cancel or pause before your renewal date, and stay on monthly billing until you know the plan fits.

The only discount on Submagic’s pricing page is yearly billing: up to 41% off in dollars and euros, up to 51% in Brazilian reais. We don’t list promo codes.

Is Submagic worth it?

Disclosure: we make StoryCut, a competitor, so weigh this accordingly.

Submagic is worth it if your videos fit its caps (2 minutes on Starter, 5 on Pro) and you want what it does well: a large library of caption templates, an AI Auto Edit that adds B-roll and transitions, filler-word and bad-take removal on Pro, posting to social platforms and an API. Pro at $23 a month billed yearly is fair value for a solo creator who uses those tools every week.

It is weaker value if your videos run longer than 5 minutes (only Business at $41 or $69 a month allows that), if several people need access (every seat is billed), if you want clips from long videos (an extra $19 a month for 10 uploads), or if you can’t risk a charge you can’t get back, since there are no refunds.

StoryCut costs less on every tier, includes AI clips and 5 team members on Business, and has a free plan you can keep. It has no API, no social posting, no filler-word removal and no mobile app, and it is newer, with no third-party reviews yet. The fairest test is to run the same video through Submagic’s trial and StoryCut’s free plan before you pay for either.
