GTA 6 Shorts with AI: key facts

Short answer
GTA 6 clips earn in two ways: Shorts of your own gameplay, paid by YouTube or TikTok once your account qualifies, or clipping campaigns, where a streamer or brand pays per 1,000 views for clips of their streams. Shorts pay far less than the $1,000 per million views some videos promise: about $70 to $200 in most niches. StoryCut does the clipping: paste a YouTube, Twitch or Kick link in StoryCut, Claude or ChatGPT and get scored vertical clips, facecam on top, captions on.
What Shorts really pay
About $70 to $200 per million views in most niches. Across 274 channels, the median Shorts RPM was $0.07 to $0.20 per 1,000 views in most niches, $0.17 in gaming and about $0.33 with a US audience. YouTube pays creators 45% of their share of the Shorts ad pool.
Before YouTube pays you
Views earn nothing until the channel is in the YouTube Partner Program: 1,000 subscribers and 10 million Shorts views in 90 days (or 4,000 watch hours in 12 months). From February 1, 2027, joining takes 20 million Shorts views, and a channel needs 10 million Shorts views in every 90 days to keep earning from Shorts.
Clipping campaigns
Streamers and brands pay clippers per 1,000 views, or split a pool by views: a median of $1.00 per 1,000 views across 50 campaigns in September 2026 (from $0.05 to $3). Joining is your permission to clip their streams, and some campaigns count only a mostly US audience.
Inside Claude or ChatGPT
Add StoryCut as a connector and ask in the chat: “clip the best reactions from this stream”. It works on every Claude plan, Free included (one custom connector), and in ChatGPT Business and Enterprise workspaces on the web. The connector is free; runs use your StoryCut plan.
Facecam layout and moments
StoryCut finds the webcam in a stream and puts it across the top, the game below and captions under the line. It picks moments from what is said, the loudest reactions and every “clip that”, so someone has to talk: a video with almost no speech is refused.
Price
Free: 1 long video a month (its first 30 minutes), 720p with a watermark, no credit card. Paid plans count hours of video a month: Starter 3 hours (up to 10 videos), Pro 10 hours (up to 30 videos), Business 30 hours (up to 60 videos), without a watermark, from $7/mo billed yearly.
How It Works

Make GTA 6 clips by chatting with Claude or ChatGPT

Claude on every plan, Free included. ChatGPT in Business and Enterprise workspaces, on the web. The connector is free, and runs use your StoryCut plan.

  1. 1

    Add StoryCut to your assistant

In Claude: Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it StoryCut and paste https://app.storycut.com/mcp. In ChatGPT Business, an admin or owner adds it: Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, with the same address.

  2. 2

    Sign in to StoryCut once

A StoryCut page opens: continue with Google, Apple or your email. No account yet? Create a free one first, no credit card.

  3. 3

    Paste the stream and ask

Paste a YouTube, Twitch or Kick past broadcast and say what you want: “Clip the best reactions from this stream as 30 to 60 second vertical clips.” StoryCut finds the facecam and the moments; a run takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Pick, restyle, export

Ask “which clips are best?” to get scores and preview links, change a caption style or a headline in plain words, then say “export the top 3” to get MP4 download links.

How It Works

Or clip on storycut.com in four steps

The same clips without an assistant: paste the link, check the facecam, pick the best clips, export.

  1. 1

    Paste the link or upload

A YouTube, Twitch or Kick past broadcast, or your own recording (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV or WebM). Each run takes 2 to 150 minutes of video. Pick a clip length or leave it on Auto.

  2. 2

    Check your facecam

While the clips are made, StoryCut shows the webcam it found on a frame of your stream: Looks right, Adjust or No facecam. Tick “Remember it for this channel” and your next stream starts with it.

  3. 3

    Get scored clips

Up to 12 clips a run, best first: your cam on top, the game below, captions under the line and a headline on the first seconds.

  4. 4

Make each clip yours, then export

Change the layout, the caption style or the headline, add zooms and sound effects on Pro, then export the MP4 for Shorts, TikTok or Reels. Publishing to YouTube and TikTok from StoryCut is coming soon.

Why “$1,000 per million views” is wrong

Some videos promise that YouTube pays about $1,000 for every million Shorts views. Across 274 channels, the median Shorts RPM was $0.07 to $0.20 per 1,000 views in most niches, $0.17 in gaming and about $0.33 with a US audience: $70 to $200 for a million views in most niches, about $330 with a US audience, not $1,000.

And views only earn once the channel is in the YouTube Partner Program. Through Shorts, that takes 1,000 subscribers and 10 million Shorts views in 90 days: at two Shorts a day, 180 Shorts averaging about 56,000 views each. From February 1, 2027, joining takes 20 million Shorts views, and a channel needs 10 million Shorts views in every 90 days to keep earning from Shorts.

None of that makes GTA 6 Shorts a bad idea. It means the money comes from clips people watch to the end, posted every day, and that a clipping campaign is the one way that pays from your first clips while your own channel grows.

Your GTA 6 clipping kit

Copy what you need: the prompt for your assistant, the launch-week checklist, and a message to ask a streamer. Nothing to download.

The prompt

Paste it in Claude or ChatGPT with StoryCut connected, then add your stream’s link.

Clip the best reactions from this stream as vertical clips of 30 to 60 seconds, with bold captions and a headline on each. Show me the top 5 with their scores and preview links: [paste the YouTube, Twitch or Kick link]

Launch-week checklist

What to set up before you record, and what to check before you post.

  • Clip your own gameplay, or a streamer whose clipping campaign you joined.
  • Talk while you play: your reactions make the clip yours.
  • Stream or record with your mic on. A PS5 can broadcast to Twitch and YouTube.
  • Turn the in-game radio down: licensed songs bring copyright claims.
  • Never post leaks, the ending or cutscenes on their own.
  • Don’t open on a gunfight: graphic violence in the first 7 seconds limits YouTube ads.
  • Post without another tool’s watermark.
  • For TikTok’s Creator Rewards, make clips at least 1 minute long.
  • Follow the campaign’s brief: handle on screen, tags, audience country.
  • Practice now on your own GTA V sessions, so launch week is routine.

Ask a streamer

No campaign yet? Ask before you clip someone else’s stream.

Hi [name], I make Shorts, TikToks and Reels from GTA streams. Can I clip your GTA 6 streams? I’ll credit your channel in every caption and send you the links. If you run a clipping program, I’d like to join it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you really make money with GTA 6 Shorts?

Yes, but not the way some videos promise. Shorts pay about $70 to $200 per million views in most niches, and only once your channel is in the YouTube Partner Program. Clipping campaigns pay per 1,000 views from your first qualifying clip, with a median of $1.00 per 1,000 views across 50 campaigns in September 2026 (from $0.05 to $3). Most clips get few views, so earnings depend on posting clips people finish, every day. Nothing guarantees earnings.

How much does YouTube pay for a million Shorts views?

Creators keep 45% of their share of the Shorts ad pool. In a study of 274 channels (AIR Media-Tech, September 2026), the median Shorts RPM was $0.07 to $0.20 per 1,000 views in most niches, $0.17 in gaming and about $0.33 with a US audience, so a million views brings roughly $70 to $330.

Is it allowed to post GTA 6 clips?

Rockstar says Take-Two “does not object to our fans using materials for non-commercial uses in a manner which does not intentionally spoil the plot for others”, and defines non-commercial as not making money through the footage you post. It takes down leaked footage, endings and cutscenes posted on their own. Monetized GTA gameplay videos are common, but the policy grants no licence for them: earnings are a risk you take. For anything commercial, Rockstar’s contact is [email protected].

Can I repost GTA 6 gameplay I find on YouTube?

Not to earn from it. YouTube doesn’t pay for reuploads of other creators’ content, TikTok keeps clips showing someone else’s watermark out of the For You feed, and the owner can take them down for copyright. Clip your own gameplay, or a streamer who pays clippers through a campaign: joining it is your permission.

How do clipping campaigns work?

A streamer or brand puts up a budget on a campaign platform such as Content Rewards. You join, clip their streams, post from your own accounts and submit the links. Each campaign pays a rate per 1,000 views with a minimum and a cap per clip, or splits a pool by views between the clippers who qualify. Some count only views from a mostly US audience, and some are open only to creators in certain countries: read the brief first.

Does StoryCut work in the free version of ChatGPT?

Not today. ChatGPT offers custom MCP servers with full access in Business and Enterprise/Edu workspaces, on the web; on Pro they can only read, so they can’t start a run. On other plans, use Claude, whose free plan allows one custom connector, or paste the link on storycut.com: the clips are the same.

Does it work in Claude for free?

Yes. Claude’s free plan allows one custom connector: add StoryCut under Customize → Connectors with the address https://app.storycut.com/mcp. The connector is free, and runs use your StoryCut plan. StoryCut’s free plan includes 1 long video a month (its first 30 minutes), 720p with a watermark.

Can I use Twitch or Kick links?

Yes, past broadcasts and clips: twitch.tv/videos/… or kick.com/<channel>/videos/…, on the site and in the chat. A channel page is the live stream and can’t be imported. Subscriber-only past broadcasts can’t be read: download those and upload the file. Twitch deletes past broadcasts after a while, so clip them soon after the stream.

How long should a GTA 6 Short be?

Long enough for the setup and the reaction. TikTok’s Creator Rewards only pay for videos of at least 1 minute, and campaign briefs set their own lengths. StoryCut’s clip lengths are Auto (15 to 80 s), under 30 s, 30 to 59 s and 60 to 89 s.

Does it work on gameplay without commentary?

No. StoryCut picks moments from what is said and from the loudest reactions, and a video with almost no speech is refused instead of being clipped badly. Talk while you play: it also makes the clip yours.

Do I have to wait for GTA 6 to start?

No. Practice now on your own GTA V sessions or on the streams of a campaign you joined: the workflow is the same, and your caption style, facecam box and posting routine will be ready for launch week.

How much does StoryCut cost?

Free: 1 long video a month (its first 30 minutes), 720p with a watermark, no credit card. Paid plans count hours of video a month: Starter 3 hours (up to 10 videos), Pro 10 hours (up to 30 videos), Business 30 hours (up to 60 videos), without a watermark, from $7/mo billed yearly. TikTok keeps clips with another tool’s watermark out of the For You feed, so for campaigns use a paid plan, or remove the watermark from one video for $1.99.

Can StoryCut post my clips to YouTube and TikTok?

Not yet: publishing to YouTube and TikTok from StoryCut is coming soon. Today you export the MP4 and post it yourself.

Is StoryCut made by or connected to Rockstar Games?

No. StoryCut is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Grand Theft Auto and GTA are their trademarks, named here only to say which game the clips come from.
