Opus Clip pricing: the short answer

Opus Clip price (2026)
Starter is $15 a month and is sold monthly only. Pro is $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly ($174 a year), per pack. Business is custom. These are the US prices on opus.pro.
Free plan
Yes: 60 credits a month, clips up to 1080p with a watermark, no editing, and clips stop being exportable after 3 days.
How credits work
1 credit = 1 minute of the source video you import, not one clip. Starter includes 150 credits a month and Pro 300 per pack. Posting to X costs 3 credits per post.
Free trial
A 7-day Pro trial, with no credit card needed in the countries Opus serves at full capacity. Trial exports carry the watermark and can’t be posted, scheduled or downloaded in 4K. After 7 days the account becomes a Free account.
4K
Pro downloads clips in 4K, but only when the source video is true 4K. Posting and scheduling in 4K needs Business.
Regional prices
Yearly Pro is $14.50 a month in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and most of Europe. The pricing page shows $17.40 a month in most other countries and $19.43 a month in India, Brazil and Mexico. Monthly Pro is $29.
Refunds
Opus’s terms say fees already paid aren’t refunded and there are no prorated refunds. Pro users can get a project’s credits back within 14 days of upload if they haven’t downloaded any clip.

How many Opus Clip credits do you need?

Opus Clip charges for the length of the video you upload, not for the clips you keep. A 60-minute podcast costs 60 credits whether you export 2 clips or 20. Videos under a minute cost 1 credit, and partial minutes are rounded down, so a 4.5-minute video costs 4.

Starter’s 150 credits cover about 2.5 hours of source video a month: two 1-hour episodes fit, three don’t. Pro’s 300 credits per pack cover about 5 hours, so four weekly 1-hour episodes (240 credits) fit in one pack. To save credits, use the processing timeframe slider to send only the part of a video you need.

On monthly plans, unused credits expire after 60 days, so they roll over for one extra month. Yearly Pro gives you the whole year’s credits (3,600 per pack) up front, valid for 12 months. If you cancel, your remaining credits still expire on their original date.

What the Opus Clip price doesn’t include

A yearly Starter plan. Starter is monthly only; the yearly discount applies to Pro.

Seats without buying packs. Pro includes 2 seats per pack, with a maximum of 4 users per team workspace. More credits or seats mean more packs, each at the full pack price. Adding packs starts a new billing cycle and charges the full amount right away.

A free plan you can publish from. Free clips carry the watermark, can’t be edited and can only be exported for 3 days. The 7-day Pro trial is also watermarked, with no posting, scheduling, music, transitions or 4K, and it can’t be paused.

4K on every plan. Starter has no 4K. Pro downloads in 4K only from a true 3840 × 2160 source (Opus doesn’t upscale), and 4K posting and scheduling is reserved for Business.

The same price everywhere. The yearly Pro discount depends on your country: $14.50 a month in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and most of Europe, $17.40 in most other countries and $19.43 in India, Brazil and Mexico, according to Opus’s pricing page.

Refunds. Opus’s terms say it won’t refund fees already paid, and cancelling gives no prorated refund: your plan runs to the end of the term, and changes take effect at the next billing cycle. The one exception is getting a project’s credits back on Pro within 14 days, before you download any clip. Projects on the Free plan expire after 3 days, so download what you need before a paid plan ends.

A locked-in price. Plans renew at the then-current, non-promotional rate, and Opus can change subscription fees with advance notice.

Is Opus Clip worth it?

Worth it if you publish clips from long videos every week, such as podcasts, interviews, streams or webinars. Finding clips is Opus Clip’s core product, and yearly Pro at $14.50 a month per pack (in the US) is good value once you process more than about 2.5 hours of video a month.

Starter at $15 a month suits lighter use: about 2.5 hours of source video a month, no watermark, the editor, Virality Score and posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels. It is monthly only, so if you know you will stay a year, yearly Pro costs less per month and includes twice the credits.

Use the Free plan only to test: the watermark, no editing and the 3-day export window make it hard to publish from.

Look elsewhere if you need eye contact correction (Opus Clip doesn’t list it), if you mostly caption short videos you already filmed rather than cutting long ones, or if you need 4K posting without paying for Business.

Cheaper alternatives to Opus Clip

Opus Clip Free. Fine for testing clip quality before you pay, with the watermark and 3-day export limit.

StoryCut (our product). AI clips are included in every plan and counted per long video rather than per minute: 1 long video a month on Free, 10 on Starter ($9/mo, or $7/mo billed yearly), 50 on Pro and 100 on Business. Paste a YouTube link or upload a file, and you get 3 to 12 clips with a 0–100 virality score, reframed to 9:16 around faces and the active speaker, with captions added. Free exports are 720p with a watermark. StoryCut has no social posting, scheduling, API or mobile app.

Vizard. The Free plan gives 60 credits a month (720p, watermark). Creator is $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly ($174 a year), the same yearly price as Opus Clip Pro in the US, with 4K export and post scheduling on the entry paid plan.
